The 3 Critical Reasons to have Your Preservation Box Sealed

As a bride how can you know which is best for you and your wedding gown? Is it better to have your wedding gown preservation box un-sealed or sealed? Should the box be just taped shut allowing you access to taking out your gown from the box, or should it be completely sealed?

Some wedding gown preservation companies provide double sided tape so you can re-tape the box shut when you're done examining your dress. The companies who allow you to open your preservation box and tape it shut again offer the shortest guarantees. They have to. Anytime you touch your gown and or expose it to the air, dirt, dust, body oils and moisture can get in and you increase the risk of problems.

Once a bride removes their dress from the preservation box they can't help but expose the dress to the open air, and humidity.  It's also difficult not to drag the dress on the floor. Whether it's carpet or hardwood the dress is going to pick up some dirt, dust and fibers from the surface. Just touching the dress or having it touch you can transfer body oil, sweat and make-up to the dress. If you try your dress on this exposure is even greater - almost guaranteed to happen.
